X-Mirror™ Lens Technology
A high-performance mirrored lens coating system engineered to reduce harsh brightness, improve visual comfort, and deliver the bold reflective appearance used across BEXST performance eyewear.
Built for Bright Conditions
X-Mirror™ is BEXST’s advanced mirrored lens coating system designed for bright environments, reflective surfaces, and active outdoor performance. Unlike standard tinted lenses that only absorb light, mirrored coatings reflect a portion of incoming light away from the lens surface before it reaches your eyes.
The result is reduced brightness, improved visual comfort, lower eye fatigue, and a bold technical appearance engineered for performance eyewear.
Reduced Brightness
Reflective coatings help reduce intense sunlight and harsh glare in bright outdoor environments.
Enhanced Comfort
Reduced squinting and lower visual fatigue during driving, training, and extended outdoor wear.
Performance Styling
Distinctive mirrored finishes create a bold technical look inspired by modern sports eyewear.
Why Mirrored Coatings Are Used
Mirrored coatings were developed for environments with extreme brightness and reflective glare, including water, pavement, snow, sand, and open terrain. By reflecting excess light away from the lens surface, mirrored sunglasses help improve comfort and visual performance in demanding conditions.
- Driving in bright sunlight
- Beach and water environments
- Fishing and boating
- Cycling and running
- High-glare outdoor training
- Bright open terrain and road use
How X-Mirror™ Works
X-Mirror™ uses a thin reflective coating applied to the outer surface of the lens. Part of the incoming light is reflected away while the remaining light passes through the base lens for visual clarity.
The final experience depends on both the mirrored coating and the base lens underneath it. BEXST X-Mirror™ lenses are built on carefully selected Smoke, Dark Smoke, and Photochromic lens systems.
X-Mirror™ vs Polarized Lenses
Mirrored coatings and polarization are different technologies designed for different purposes.
| Technology | Purpose | Best Use |
|---|---|---|
| X-Mirror™ | Reflects excess brightness and helps reduce overall light intensity. | Driving, outdoor training, bright sunlight, road glare, and open environments. |
| Polarized | Filters reflected glare from flat reflective surfaces like water and pavement. | Fishing, boating, beaches, and highly reflective environments. |
Built Around the Base Lens
Every X-Mirror™ lens starts with a carefully selected base lens tint. The mirror coating affects reflected light, while the base lens controls brightness level, contrast, and overall visual experience.
Smoke Lens
Balanced bright-sun performance with neutral color perception and comfortable outdoor visibility.
Dark Smoke Lens
Increased brightness reduction for intense sunlight and stronger glare conditions.
Photochromic Lens
Adaptive lenses that automatically adjust tint level depending on surrounding light conditions.
Important UV Protection Information
Mirrored coatings do not create UV protection by themselves. UV protection comes from the lens material and UV-blocking technologies built into the lens system. Quality performance sunglasses should always provide full UV protection regardless of mirror color.
X-Mirror™ Lens Care
Proper lens care helps preserve mirrored coatings and maintain long-term visual clarity.
- Store eyewear in a protective case.
- Rinse away sand, salt, or dust before wiping.
- Use clean microfiber cloths only.
- Avoid paper towels and abrasive fabrics.
- Avoid excessive heat exposure inside vehicles.
- Clean lenses regularly to preserve clarity and coating longevity.
